A Terroir and an Estate
The history of R.Blin et Fils Champagne begins with the history of the terroir of Trigny.
The village nestles in the south of the Saint Thierry massif, overlooking the Reims plain and all Maxime Blin Champagne’s vines are grown here.
Each plot of land used to grow the three champagne grape varieties is part of the village of Trigny.
Our vines cover an area of 12 hectares, made up of 50% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier and 25% Chardonnay.
The 12 hectares of vines we cultivate are exclusively planted in the village of Trigny, making the champagnes from our estate ‘mono-crus’ or single-village wines, which is very rare in the Champagne region.

Our vineyard’s east/south-east exposure provides the ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen, resulting in a top-quality harvest.
For the last few years we have been practising enherbement (maintaining grass cover between the vines) on some plots and using alternative methods to work the soil.
The estate itself is situated on a slope, allowing us to work with the gravity.
During harvesting, the grapes arrive on the platform and are divided into grape pomace or marc of 6,000kg for pressing. Our estate is equipped with a 6,000kg Coquard press with a sloped trough enabling us to obtain juice of exceptional quality.
The juice is then taken to the vinification tanks which each hold around 2,000 hectolitres. Our fermentation rooms are equipped with stainless steel tanks which are thermo-regulated and air-conditioned so that we can control the quality of the vinification.

And finally, the moment arrives for the most important aspect of the job – the VINIFICATION; our champagnes are created with both a gentle touch and passion, so that their most unsuspected aromas can develop, offering you the utmost pleasure.
The most crucial moment in vinification is blending the wines to create the different vintages you appreciate so much.
Blending is carried out with our oenologist as well as the entire family in the fermenting room itself, and every year among the tanks we taste and blend the best of our wines in order to bring out blends which correspond to each of our vintages.
Once the blending has been completed, we bottle the wines in our cellars, and this is followed by the aging process for many months in our vaults where the temperature and hygrometry are constant and ideal for obtaining the impeccable quality of our Champagnes.

The final stage in creating R.Blin et Fils Champagnes is the disgorgement process to expel the deposit (made up of yeasts) found in bottles.
It is finally ready to end up on your table and accompany your most unforgettable moments.
We work with passion and authenticity to harvest the grapes and create the most traditional wines from this unusual terroir where our estate lies.
